Waitlist privacy notice

Takt is in private beta. This notice covers this website and its waitlist. Invited teams get a full privacy policy and terms before they put their work into Takt.

Who we are

This website

The site is a set of static pages hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It sets no cookies and serves its fonts itself. Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and request details to deliver and protect the site.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It uses no cookies or local storage and doesn't fingerprint visitors; it records things like the page viewed, the referring site, the country and the browser type, and shows them to us only as totals.

Cloudflare handles all of this under Cloudflare's privacy policy.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we keep your name, email address, what you told us you would run on Takt, the page you signed up from, your IP address, when you signed up and when you confirmed your address. We use them only to review your request, invite you to the private beta, and understand what people want to run. We don't sell or share any of it, and we don't add you to any other mailing list.

We keep the list ourselves, in a Cloudflare D1 database, rather than with a newsletter service. Our emails to you are sent through Depesha, a transactional email service run by the same operator: it receives your name, address and the links in the email to write it, doesn't store them, and keeps a delivery record of each message. Depesha delivers mail through its own servers or, as a fallback, through Amazon SES (Amazon Web Services, in the United States) under the AWS privacy notice. Your IP address is used only to check signups for spam and abuse.

We email you a link to confirm your address, and we invite only confirmed addresses. The person who runs Takt receives a copy of that email, to review your signup.

How long we keep it

Until you leave the waitlist, or 12 months after we stop running it, whichever comes first. Every email we send carries a link to leave.

Leave the waitlist

Enter the address you signed up with, or use the link in any email we sent you. We delete the signup and everything it holds at once. Depesha's delivery records of emails already sent to the address, and the copy we received, stay with our mail.
